Default Breeding Hybrid poppies.

I was told this by a research botanist who worked on the Tasmanian poppy projects.

There is 1 very simple way to create a super strong strain of poppy without much fuckin' around.
OK, breed for the best P somniferum possible, yield and strength of the opium is the deciding factor.
Breed for the best P orientalis possible etc.
Once the 2 strains have been established as parents we simply cross pollinate. The P orientalis produces Thebaine, the P somniferum - morphine.
Thebaine (paramorphine) is converted to morphine by morphine as an enzymic reaction.
Anyways, the seeds that this plant yields should grow poppy with a much higher Morph content.

If I explained that wrong I apologise, the end result is High morphine yielding poppy.
& all ya' gotta do is cross your best P somniferum with your best P orientalis ;-)
